Donor Privacy Policy

Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) respects the privacy of its donors and is committed to safeguarding personal information and ensuring that donor privacy is protected.

MFS collects and maintains personal information from its donors in a secure database. All donor and prospect information created by or on behalf of MFS is the property of MFS. Therefore, MFS does not sell, rent, trade or share its donor database or donors’ personal information with any other organizations. This policy applies to all information, both online and offline, on any platform, as well as electronic, written, and oral communications. To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.

It is the policy of MFS to communicate with donors according to their expressed preferences whenever possible. Donors have the right to have their names removed from mailing lists at any time. MFS will discontinue or change the method used to contact any person upon that person’s oral or written request directed to MFS.

MFS adheres to the Association of Fundraising Professional’s long-standing Donor Bill of Rights, created in 1993 by AFP in conjunction with other fundraising and nonprofit groups. The document was developed to ensure donor awareness of the responsibilities that a charity has to its donors, and the expectations that donors should have of charities when making a charitable gift.

MFS is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals and subscribes to AFP’s Donor Bill of Rights.
