Is MFS a nonprofit, a private business or a government program?

We are a 501 (c) (3) organization and we’re governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

How is MFS funded?

We receive funding from many sources, including donations, grants, contracts, and partnerships.

What communities do you serve?

We connect with people throughout the Portland Metro area and SW Washington.

Can anyone get help from MFS?

Our programs support children, families, and older adults from all walks of life.  Most help those who are facing cultural or economic barriers.

Where are you located?

MFS co-locates in schools and with other partnering organizations.  Our main office is in Southeast Portland.

Does MFS employ its own staff or contract for services?

We employ 250 highly-skilled and dedicated professionals – some full-time and some part-time.  We also contract services for specialized needs.

Do you utilize volunteers?

Oh yes!  In fact, more than 2,000 volunteers donate more than 70,000 hours of service each year.
