Last month, the Oregon Department of Education announced that the North Clackamas School District will receive $484,499 “21st Century Learning Grants” to provide after-school and summer learning activities for students and families at Milwaukie High School, New Urban High School and Lot Whitcomb Elementary…

Along with community-based partner Metropolitan Family Service, the district is planning after-school programs at each of the high-poverty schools for four days per week for at least 12 hours per week. Each year of the grants, NCSD’s four-week summer programs will operate at least four hours per day, for a minimum of five days a week.
