MFS EC Mentor in Gresham Outlook

The Gresham Outlook wrote a lovely feature about Peggy Armstrong, an MFS AARP Experience Corps mentor at Hall Elementary School!

“Peggy Armstrong, a 71 year-old retired fabric buyer, isn’t spending her golden years parked in front of the television. For the past decade, she’s spent about 10 hours per week at Hall Elementary School helping kids improve their reading skills.

“It’s satisfying. It’s enlightening,” Armstrong says.

Real Money for Working Families – A Message from Our CEO

Greetings to you all!

We are looking to our friends, colleagues and partners to aid us in getting the word out regarding a key piece of legislation, HB 3028, that supports working people in our community through access to an earned income benefit credit. This credit is referred to as EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) and is set to expire by 2020; HB 3028 supports continuation and expansion of this benefit.
