Cooking Classes from MFS Hunger Relief Team

Last Thursday, MFS Hunger Relief programs held a Vietnamese cooking class at West Powellhurst, led by MFS Hunger Relief AmeriCorps member Thu Le, and two Vietnamese community members. They taught parents, students and volunteers how to make Vietnamese salad rolls and peanut sauce, sticky coconut rice, and a Vietnamese chicken and vegetable soup. 🥥🍲🍴

Each family took home a bag of healthy groceries and recipes! Thank you, Portland Children’s Levy for the support!

This is one of THIRTY healthy cooking workshops being held by the MFS Hunger Relief team at our SUN Schools!

Volunteer for Classic Wines Auction!

Sign up to volunteer today!

The Classic Wines Auction is less than 2 months away! Proceeds from their amazing series of events support 5 local nonprofits, including MFS (in fact, we started the Auction 34 years ago!!). Last year, they raised $420,000 for each of the nonprofits, and that wouldn’t have happened without nearly 500 awesome volunteers.

Please consider volunteering behind the scenes or on the front lines. There are lots of positions available! See job descriptions here.

Double the fun and sign up with a friend before the Jan 15 deadline. Please be sure to indicate that you are affiliated with MFS.

Hope to see you there!
