This spring, the MFS 5th Annual Community Cup at Davis Elementary hosted 16 student soccer teams and served nearly 800 youth and their families. Each team played tournament-style games and participated in other high energy activities. The event highlights how MFS community based schools create a deeper connection between education, family, economic stability and health. All attendees and volunteers enjoyed free healthy food and a family resource fair that included free vision screenings and financial resources.
MFS received outstanding donations and community support to host this successful event. Thank you to AC Portland, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest., Growing Gardens, Herbalife, Kaiser Permanente Health Care, Lions VisionGift, Metropolitan Family Service Finance and MFS AmeriCorps team, Multnomah County, Oregon, Oregon Food Bank, and The Wallace Medical Concern.
