MFS attended the recent 25th Annual Good in the Hood Multicultural Music, Arts & Food Festival in North Portland.
Read what our MFS Encore Fellow & Gen2Gen Project Leader Lou Weisberg had to say.
“This was an excellent outreach event! It was well attended, and we generated a lot of activity and interest in our programs. A good part of this was due to Sara Epstein, who brought “otter” pops on Saturday to hand out, games for kids to play, and a poster board with questions that if people answered were given a raffle ticket for prizes.
We got 19 names we got on our volunteer interest sheet!
On a personal level, I really enjoyed myself (except for the heat) and was impressed with how every interaction I had with security, festival staff, attendees and other vendors were positive, warm, helpful and often joyous. Also food and music was GREAT!”
Big thanks to Lou & Sara, as well as Siobahn, Kim, Hannah, Linda, Charlene and Heather who came out for MFS!
