Metropolitan Family Service (MFS) has been awarded an AmeriCorps Operating Grant in the amount of $292,600 to continue our AmeriCorps program begun in 2011.
The team of 22 full-time AmeriCorps members will serve throughout MFS. MFS AmeriCorps members will gain valuable experience and help build community. MFS is currently actively recruiting for a number of positions. Members are responsible for a wide variety of duties including the implementation of effective volunteer management best practices; family engagement; assistance with intergenerational and financial capabilities services; and teaching life skills and leadership to students.

AmeriCorps engages more than 75,000 members in intensive service annually to serve through nonprofit, faith-based, and community organizations at 21,000 locations across the country. These members help communities tackle pressing problems while mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve. Since 1994, more than 980,000 Americans have provided more than 1.3 billion hours of service to their communities and country through AmeriCorps.
