Did you know that approximately 60% of older adults, veterans and persons with disabilities are not receiving the benefits they are entitled to? Maybe you are unsure what benefits you can receive, or find it difficult to make it to the various offices to fill out the paperwork.

We are here to help older adults and people with disabilities connect to government benefits programs like SNAP, Medicare Savings Program, Medicaid, and Energy Assistance. All help is offered free of charge to you by our trained staff and volunteers. We work to make the process as simple as possible, cutting through the governmental red tape and getting you the services you need. We even help you complete all the paperwork!

What Does the Center Do? 

  • Share information about available benefits
  • Screen for eligibility for multiple benefit programs
  • Assist with completing and submitting applications as well as gathering necessary documents
  • Can help serve as liaison in following up with government agencies
  • Give renewal reminders and provide help with re-certification

Step 1) Benefits Checkup & Screening 

Wonder what benefits you or a loved one might be eligible to receive? The Benefits Outreach Center can help you find out. Call us at 503.688.1788 and one of our Checkup Specialists will gather the necessary information to complete a Benefits Checkup. Please have key information available like your income and address to complete the screening process. All information is confidential and will only be used for the Benefits Checkup

Step 2) Benefits Enrollment

Once you know the benefits you are eligible to receive the Benefits Outreach Center can help you with the enrollment process. Our team will guide you through the process and help you submit those documents. We’ll work with you on necessary follow up, too.

We can also help you re-enroll if you already know you are eligible. Just give us a call and we’ll help you complete all the necessary forms to enroll!

Medicare Part D Extra Help (Low-Income Subsidy), which helps pay for prescription drug costs.

Medicare Savings Program (MSP), which helps beneficiaries afford Medicare premiums, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments for inpatient and outpatient health care.

Medicaid, which covers a broad range of medical, dental and behavioral health services.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides credits on electronic cards enabling recipients to buy nutritious food at participating stores.

Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which can assist qualified individuals with their home heating and cooling costs.
