In December 2000, the Service Excellence Award was established in honor of Ron Yoder, who served as Executive Director of MFS from 1972 – 1991. This award is presented annually to recognize the contributions of employees who personify MFS values. 

Laura Knechtges and Miriam Aberth received the 2007 award.  Laura has been assisting MFS families as a Parent Educator since 2005. With over 10 years experience as a preschool teacher, group facilitator, family advocate, and SUN extended day coordinator, Laura has the knowledge and temperament to help families from diverse backgrounds understand child development and best practices in nurturing and guiding their children from birth to adolescence. 

Miriam provides outstanding customer service to all of MFS. She is extremely flexible and willing to pitch in wherever she can help. She also has a strong commitment to MFS and personifies our mission every day in her work with our employees and our vendors.
