Gresham High School's dismissal bell rang half an hour ago, but at 3 p.m., 27 students file into a classroom and pull out their geometry books. The students are participating in Gresham High School's Credit Recovery Program, run as part of the SUN Community School, and is a partnership of the high school, Metropolitan Family Service and Open Meadow's Step Up Program. Metropolitan Family Service joined other Oregon Senior Corps providers at a presentation to Governor Kulongoski’s office in Salem, Oregon. Karen McPhee (center), program coordinator for Metropolitan Family Service, presented a poster sized check for $35.1 million dollars that represents the value of over 1.6 million hours of Senior Corps volunteer service in Oregon. More
