Thank you to everyone who supported the 2008 Classic Wines Auction, which raised $3.1 million – and set another record. In addition to Metropolitan Family Service, there are four other nonprofits that will benefit: Friends of the Children – Portland, New Avenues for Youth, Trillium Family Services, and YWCA of Clark County.

What began as a small group of friends exchanging wine from personal collections to raise funds for Metropolitan Family Service, the Classic Wines Auction has evolved into one of the top 10 charity wine auctions in the United States according to Wine Spectator magazine, prompting organizers to form a separate nonprofit entity in July 2004. This shift has enabled the event to attract new supporters, expand its catalog, increase its fundraising and benefit a greater number of local charities. Proceeds from the event will continue to support Metropolitan Family Service, and its success provides an opportunity to serve even more children and families in the Portland community.
