Overview

Every year students and their families connect with the CAFE after school program. They receive assistance in their educational growth and individual success. CAFE parents also receive encouragement to participate in their student's education through training opportunities, family events, and assistance with accessing school day staff.

CAFE features literacy, reading, writing, drama, art, and math in an award winning after school program. CAFE fosters student success in a supportive and nourishing atmosphere for children of all languages and socio-economic backgrounds.

Increasingly children struggle in school and
there is a growing concern that students need additional out of school learning time to assist in their success.

CAFE creates that environment during the critical after school hours. Recreational activities, healthy snacks, and transportation are also supplied for children attending CAFE.

   CAFE Summer Program

Summer programs keep children's minds active and prepare them for school in the fall.  One of the week-long themes for the summer program was time travel.  Kids, in grades 1 through 6, got to move from room to room leaning about different eras.

There were rooms for the Middle Ages, the Colonial Period and the Roaring '20s.

In the colonial room, students learned about the roles of men and women in colonial society.  In another room, students learned about Louis Armstrong and the golden age of radio in the 1920's.
