A Gathering of Good (agog) will inspire you to listen, speak, learn and most of all, discover ways you can help create a better community.

Organized by Metropolitan Family Service, agog promotes face-to-face conversation, civic engagement and social change.

Each year agog focuses on a significant issue in our community that affects everyone.

Building Healthy Communities is our focus for 2010. Let’s explore questions such as:

What does a healthy community look like?
What are innovative ways to ensure access to quality health care for everyone?
How do individual and community actions intersect to promote health?
There are many ways you can get involved:

We hope you’ll join us for our fall fundraising event, A Gathering of Good, on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Portland Hilton. We’ll feature an inspiring regional speaker on health issues and present the second annual Provocateur award to an exceptional community member who is making a positive difference right here in the Portland/Vancouver area.

The Provocateur award was created in memory of Eileen Johnson, who was an inspiring example of community activism and dedicated to the mission of Metropolitan Family Service.

Proceeds will support Metropolitan Family Service programs

Metropolitan Family Service programs support people facing cultural and economic barriers such as inadequate education, health issues, isolation and poverty. Last year, our programs helped more than 37,000 children, families and older adults.

Because together, we can do more.
